Congrats to the Spartan tracksters that had a successful day at the IL Top Times Meet today! Starting the day off was Owen Dare securing a 6th place medal in the 800 with a season best 2:02.32. Owen was seeded #7 going into the race. Next, Brad Schardan, seeded 22nd in the 400, dropped a full second for a season best time of 53.16 and placed 12th. Rounding out the day, Owen and Brad joined Keagan Uphoff and Cohen Alexander in the 1600 relay to place 11th. Great day guys! This meet concludes the 2022 indoor season and the outdoor track season kicks off 1 week from today at the Greenville Invitational.
Four members of the Olympia High School boy’s track team have qualified for the Class 2A Illinois Top Times indoor Championship track meet held at Wesleyan’s Shirk Center. Seniors Owen Dare and Brad Schardan will run the 800 (scheduled for 11:40) and 400(12:25) meter races, respectively. These two will be joined by sophomore Keagan Uphoff and freshman Cohen Alexander to compete in the 1600 meter relay, scheduled for 1:50. Come see the excitement as these young men do their best to bring home medals from a meet that gathers most of the top track athletes in the state!
