The high school volleyball player/parent meeting scheduled for Saturday April 15th has been postponed. A new date and location will be announced later.

Fire Updates: OHS and OMS students will not have school tomorrow, April 14th. There will *not* be a remote learning day. Elementary school will be in attendance for a normal school day. Thank you for all of the support and concern that was expressed today. 💙
Updates: All OHMS students have now either left campus to drive home or have evacuated to Minier Christian Church. Parents, you must pick up your children from the designated evacuation location at Minier Christian Church. Lines for pick up are long, so please be patient as all of the necessary evacuation procedures are followed. At Minier Christian Church you will be greeted by an adult and must present an ID to pick up your child(ren). No individuals will be allowed on the OHMS campus for the rest of the day. Fire officials will be on site all evening completing their necessary work.
More information will be shared soon regarding the status of the building and plans for school operations tomorrow.
All after school events at Olympia CUSD 16 have been cancelled for this evening due the the fire at the OHMS campus.
There is an active fire at the middle school / high school campus. All students and staff are safe.
Do not come to the OHMS campus as this will interfere with the evacuation process.
High school students who can drive will be sent home. All other high school and middle school students are being evacuated to our designated evacuation zone at Minier Christian Church. Pickup will occur there. More information regarding the timeline for pickup will be shared soon.
Due to buses needed for the evacuation, elementary buses will run their afternoon routes but they will not be on time. Parents can pick up their elementary students from school, but first need to call their child's school office.

Two school records go down this morning. Congratulations to Sarah Cross who broke our school record in the squat with a lift of 295 lbs, and to Blaine Halley who broke our school record in the bench press with a lift of 380 lbs!!!

Olympia would like to welcome Jon Rask as our new Head Volleyball coach. Jon brings more than 15 years of experience with him, most recently at Central Illinois Elite in Peoria. There will be a player/parent meeting on April 15th at 11:00am in the OHS cafeteria.
Olympia varsity baseball lost 5-0 at home tonight to Williamsville. The Spartans received a quality start from junior Caden Kindred, but were unable to produce run support. Varsity baseball plays Bloomington Central Catholic tomorrow at home (4:30 start).
The weather was amazing for this triangular meet in Lincoln. We had a lot of fun with entries and getting girls in events they don't usually run. The distance girls has a friendly competition during their 1600 meter race.
Olympia varsity baseball fell tonight 15-0 to St. Joseph-Ogden. The Spartans are home tomorrow against Williamsville at 4:30.

Olympia girls track team had an awesome day at the Metamora invite on Saturday. The weather was perfect and some of the girls were able to bring home some Pr's. The Oly girls team finished 7th out of the 13 teams. They have a lot to be proud of!

Anna Bieber came in 4th in the 800 with a time of 2:27
Chrystal Cornwell came in 7th in the 1600 meter run setting a PR for this season of 5:53
Cam Lawson set another PR this season in the 1600 with a time of 5:54
Melissa Bieber came in 1st in the 300m hurdles with a time of 50.39
4x100 varsity team: Palmer Scheets, Melissa Bieber, Grace Whiteside and Mallory Miller came in 5th with a time of 53.66
4x800 varsity team: Anna Bieber, Chrystal Cornwell, Abby Litwiller and Emma Swartzendruber came in 4th with a time of 10:39
We still have so much season left, these girls are determined at hitting their goals. Next meet is Tuesday at Lincoln high school!
The OHS boys track team competed at the 13-team Metamora Invite today. The team racked up 32 personal records throughout the day and top finishers included:
Nolen Yeary(5th in shot put with an all-time best toss of 45' 9")
Reygan Sitton(6th in 100 m dash at 11.59)
Keagan Uphoff(3rd in 110 hurdles at 16.33 & 2nd in high jump at 6' 2")
Cooper Phillips, CJ Moore, Wyatt Reinhart, & Evan Petri were 4th place in the JV 3200 m relay.
Logan Demling, Caden Clark, Jacob Lawless, & Logan Farquhar we're 6th in the varsity 3200 m relay.
Congratulations guys! The Spartans will be back in action next Tuesday at Lincoln.
Friday night was OPBA night at the ballpark. Players and coaches from multiple teams showed up to support the Spartans. Thanks to all that attended, and thank you to the OPBA for your continued support!
Olympia varsity baseball picked up a 12-3 win today on the road against Cornerstone Christian Academy. The Spartans play their next game on the road Monday against St. Joseph-Ogden.
