The 8th Grade Boys Basketball team won their second round of Regionals today against Heyworth 51-46. The team's scoring was very balanced today with four players scoring 10 points: Mason Kruger, Ty Gale, Kam White, and Will Langley.
The team plays again Thursday against Tri-Valley in the Regional Championship at 5:30 at EPG Middle School.
Come on out and cheer on the Spartans!

With so much media and information coming at us through the television, phones, social media, and more, it's more important than ever for kids to understand the basics of media literacy. When kids can identify different types of news and media and the methods and meanings behind them, they're on their way to being critical thinkers and smart consumers.

Congratulations to Mya Downs on her 2nd place finish at the IHSA girls wrestling regional today. She advances to the IHSA girls sectional, which will be held on February 14th.
The Varsity Girls Basketball Team with a dominating win over the Rantoul Eagles at the IPC/Sangamo Shootout 62-33. Sophomore Guard Elyse Eimer with 15 points, earning Player of the Game recognition. The Spartans are home vs El Paso on Monday. Come out and show your support!!
The 8th Grade Boys Basketball team battled in the first round of Regionals today against Clinton. The boys won 38-22 with Will Langley (11 points) and Cade Yoder (7 points) leading the team in scoring.
The boys play again Tuesday (2/4) at 6:15 at EPG Middle School against Heyworth.

The High School Wrestling team finished their regular season last night with a big 57-13 win over Morton, bringing our record to 24-6. Next up, we will be hosting regionals at Olympia on Saturday, February 8th. We hope you can come out and support our team!

Kids find and read news in lots of different ways. But studies show they're not very good at interpreting what they see. How can we help them get better? Teaching your children about the structure of online news articles is an important place to start.
Today, the Olympia Transition Program went to Ms. Patton's class at Oly West for our January book buddies. We read a poem about kindness & looked at different pictures to decide if it showed friendship. Then, they read a book about being a friend & created their own snowman with ways they can be a friend.
