The Lady Spartans competed in a dual match against Monticello at the Monticello Golf Club last night. Leading scorers for the Spartans were Kennadie Finchum with a score of 45, and Elyse Eimer with a score of 49. They are back in action on Monday for the Olympia Invite Scramble at North Greens Golf Course.

ROAD WIN! The Spartans traveled to Decatur MacArthur tonight and played some really competitive volleyball — and all three teams came home with a WIN! Lots of hustle, teamwork, and energy on the court from all three levels tonight! Freshman: W 2-0 | 25-11, 25-19 JV: W 2-0 | 25-15, 27-25 Varsity: W 2-1 | 17-25, 25-21, 25-12 Varsity really brought the fire tonight! After dropping the first set, they came out on fire and battled back to seal the 2-1 comeback victory! Proud of the fight, teamwork, and never-quit mentality from all three teams tonight. ➡️ Next up: JV and Varsity head to Clinton for the Clinton Classic this weekend.

OMS Golfers Take on the IESA Sectionals! We are incredibly proud of these six OMS golfers who competed in the IESA Sectional yesterday and today! Braden Deal Ian Welch Baylor McDaniel Jack Milligan Elena Dilbeck Harleigh Siliskie Unlike many school sports, these golfers don't have a traditional season or an official OMS team. Instead, they put in the work on their own throughout the spring and summer, practicing, playing, and continuing to develop their game — and that dedication earned them the opportunity to compete at the IESA Sectional. We couldn't be more proud of these six athletes for representing Olympia Middle School and putting their hard work to the test. Congratulations, golfers! Your dedication and love for the game are something to be proud of!

Congratulations OMS Softball

Solid effort on the court tonight against a strong IVC program coming off the long weekend. Even on a quiet night where things didn't come easy, our teams showed up and fought hard. Freshman and JV stayed locked in after dropping their opening sets, showing awesome heart to battle back for thrilling three-set wins. Varsity faced a tough matchup, but every set is a chance to learn, grow, and sharpen our game for what's ahead.

Freshman: W 2-1 (22-25, 25-21, 16-14)

JV: W 2-1 (22-25, 25-21, 15-12)

Varsity: L 0-2 (18-25, 13-25)

Proud of the grit across all three levels to keep pushing through to the end! We bounce back on Thursday when we head on the road to Decatur MacArthur.

After a week off of racing due to heat cancellations, the High School boys and girls cross country teams were back on the course at Maxwell Park for the U-High Invite! It was great to see everyone out there competing hard. Special shoutout to our 5 top-15 placers: • Mira – 3rd place (Girls) • Juliet – 7th place (Girls) • Emma – 9th place (Girls) • Kinsley – 10th place (Girls) • Ty – 2nd place (Boys) We are back in action this Saturday at Detweiller Park!

The Lady Spartan golf team competed tonight in the Eureka Invite. The girls carded a team score of 200, good for 2nd place overall. The Lady Spartans also had 3 top 10 finishers. Addi Minder, 10th place (52), Elyse Eimer, 9th place (51), and Kennadie Finchum, 3rd place (44).

Today we shine our Spartan Staff Spotlight on Carson Inselmann, 8th Grade English Language Arts teacher and OHS Soccer Coach. Thank you for everything you do for our students, Miss Inselmann!

The Boys Golf team celebrated Labor Day today on the course battling against St. Thomas More. The Spartans continued their winning ways today shooting a team score of 167 (+23). This marked their 5th straight win! Mason Kruger led the way for the Spartans shooting a 39 (+3), which was tied for best in the match. He was followed by Ethan Barnes shooting a 41 (+5), Chase Byrne 43 (+7), and Austin Siliskie 44 (+8). Our JV also played today but neither team had enough for a true match. Noah Ginder shot a 55 and Felix Meylahn shot a 61. Go Spartans!

Today we hosted the 3rd annual Olympia Freshman Volleyball Tournament! Our freshman team had a really strong showing, playing against some exceptional talent and ultimately taking home 3rd place! A huge congratulations to Outside Hitter Kylie Hish on being named to the All-Tournament Team.

A special thank you to all of the parents for supporting the girls through a long day of volleyball, and to all of our players who worked hard throughout the day to ensure the tournament ran smoothly!

We would also like to extend a big thank you to the administration and staff for all of their support in helping us put this event on.

We are back in action at home on Tuesday, September 8th vs IVC!

PROGRAM SWEEP OVER CLINTON!

What a night for the entire program! From the very first serve to the final point, the energy, hustle, and relentless heart across every single level was completely unmatched.

A MASSIVE shoutout to our incredible student section and all the fans in the bleachers tonight! You brought the noise, kept the momentum high, and made the gym an absolute electric environment to play in. We feed off that energy!

Girls Golf at U-High, Boys Golf at Lincoln, Freshman Football at Tri Valley, Boys Soccer at home vs. Mt. Pulaski are all cancelled for today. Coaches will communicate about practices.

The Girls Swim Team competed in their first meet of the season Tuesday afternoon. They took 3rd in the triangular meet vs U-High and Chatham Glenwood. Top finishers for Olympia included: 200 Medley Relay - 3rd place (J.Moser, L.Finfrock, C.Todd, Z.Hughes) 200 Free Relay - 2nd place (K.Cooper, B.Clendenny, E.Curtis, L.Finfrock) 400 Free Relay - 2nd place (L.Finfrock, Z.Hughes, C.Todd, J.Moser) L.Finfrock - 3rd in 100 Fly Z.Hughes - 3rd in 100 Free E.Curtis - 3rd in 50 Free & 100 Breaststroke C.Todd - 3rd in 500 Free The team competes again tonight in Pekin.
