Class of 2026 Hall of Fame Inductees

The OMS Lady Spartans had an incredible journey this season. Their journey led them down a path that so many young athletes work, sacrifice, and dream to achieve, the IESA State Tournament Series.

From the first pitch of the season to the final out, these girls continued to compete with heart, play with purpose, and leave fear behind. They battled through challenges, celebrated big moments, learned from setbacks, and continued to believe in one another every step of the way.

But this journey was about so much more than wins and losses. It was about building relationships, creating memories, representing Olympia with pride, and showing what can happen when a group of girls commits to something bigger than themselves.

Their path to State wasn't always easy. The regular season ended with a tough loss, finishing their regular season 11-4. But rather than letting that loss define them, these girls used it as fuel for what came next.

The postseason began with a huge 5-4 victory over Bloomington Evans, followed by an unforgettable walk-off 7th-inning Regional Championship victory over Parkside.

Then came the Sectional Championship. In a tight game against Minooka, the Lady Spartans broke the game wide open in the bottom of the 5th inning, finishing with a dominant 10-0 victory and punching their ticket to the State Series.

At State, the Lady Spartans finally got the opportunity to take on some BIG 3A schools and they showed they belonged. They battled and defeated a solid Edwardsville team, then dominated a tough Geneseo team, earning their spot in the 3A State Championship Game.

Although the final outcome wasn't the checked box we had hoped for at State, these girls accomplished something incredibly special. They represented Spartan Nation with pride, determination, and dedication and brought home 2nd Place in the IESA 3A State Tournament.

And now, we want to say THANK YOU, SPARTAN NATION.

To our families, friends, alumni, students, staff, and community members, your support throughout this postseason run did not go unnoticed. It was humbling, honoring, and incredibly prideful to look around the softball field at the State Championship and see so much blue and white surrounding our girls.

And to everyone who took time out of their Saturday night to line the streets, escort us back to the school, and celebrate these girls as they came home, we are truly grateful. Seeing community members step out of their homes to wave, cheer, and welcome our team home was something these girls will never forget.

We are truly blessed to be part of a community that comes together to support the hard work, dedication, and accomplishments of these young ladies.

They represented Olympia.
They represented Spartan Nation.
They represented each other.

It was a great day to be a Spartan.

There will be a school-wide assembly on Thursday, September 24th at 2:45 PM to celebrate the incredible accomplishments of our OMS Lady Spartans and recognize the hard work, dedication, and determination that carried them all the way to the IESA 3A State Championship Game. Let's pack the gym to honor these girls.

So proud of our Olympia Varsity Volleyball team for taking 2nd Place at the Fieldcrest Knight Invitational!

It was a day full of high-energy, high-level volleyball, and every single player contributed to our success. The communication, encouragement, and standout plays across the entire roster made this tournament an absolute joy to watch. They played hard, fought for every point, and represented Olympia with pure grit and sportsmanship.

Congratulations to the team on a fantastic tournament run! We can’t wait to watch them build on this performance when they’re back in action on the road at Auburn this Tuesday. Keep it up, ladies!

The Olympia High School boys and girls cross country teams have had a busy and productive week! We started the week by joining the Lions Run Club for their 2-mile time trial in Hopedale. On Tuesday, we traveled to Athens for a small meet that was delayed 45 minutes due to weather. Once we finally got to compete, everyone had a great race—Ty finished 1st overall, and Graham ran a season best! Today, we traveled to Dunlap for a 20-team invite. The Dunlap course is a true cross country course with wooded trails, open fields, and steep hills. Despite the tough terrain, Noah ran a PR, and Mira placed 9th overall on the girls' side. In fact, almost everyone on the team ran a course PR today!
