That's a wrap on the Boys Golf Season. Yesterday 2 of the boys golfers competed in the Sectional at the U of I Orange Course. While it wasn't the result either wanted both Ethan Barnes and Austin Siliskie played well on a tough course. Ethan ended up 51st shooting an 85 (+13) and Austin ended up 67th shooting an 87 (+15). Go Spartans!
We’re offering a few optional open gym opportunities for girls who are interested in getting some extra volleyball experience before MS Volleyball tryouts in early December!
These open gyms are NOT tryouts and attendance is not required. They are simply a chance to get in the gym, work on skills, get some reps, and have fun playing volleyball before the season begins.

In a special Sunday Spartan Staff Spotlight, today we shine the spotlight on Mrs. Brandi Cooper, OHS Science Teacher and Student Council Co-Sponsor. Along with her teaching duties, Mrs. Cooper spends countless hours organizing all of the Homecoming Week activities for our students. The district would like to publicly thank Mrs. Cooper for all she does for our students in the classroom and for making Homecoming Week one of the most memorable weeks of the year for our students!!
Our Olympia Boys and Girls Cross Country teams showed up this morning at the Peoria High Invite at Detweiller Park! Facing a stacked combined 1A/2A field, the Spartans absolutely dominated the course, with nearly the entire team bringing home a Personal Best (PB) or Season Best (SB)!
A massive shoutout to Mira, who earned a medal by placing in the top 30 out of a massive pack of 296 runners!

The Boys Golf team competed yesterday in their Regional at Highland Golf Course. While it wasn't the outcome the boys were looking for, they battled some tough conditions and still put together a pretty decent day. The team shot a season low score of 325 and placed 6th overall in a very tough Regional! Two boys qualified as individuals for Sectionals: Austin Siliskie at 79 (+9) 13th overall and Ethan Barnes 81 (+11) won a 2 hole playoff to earn his spot. Other notable scores from the Spartans were: Kruz Otto 82 (+12), Mason Kruger 83 (+13), Chase Meyers 95 (+25), and Gage Pitcher 95 (+25).
Ethan and Austin will be competing Monday in Sectionals at the U of I Orange Course. Go Spartans!
Congratulations to Kennadie Finchum for taking 8th place overall in yesterday's regional match at Metamora Fields. Kennadie shot an 89, and has qualified for next week's sectional match at Valley View Golf Club in Cambridge.

The 7th graders went 1-1 on the week, picking up a win over DeeMack and battling through a close loss to Corpus Christi.
8th Grade:
The 8th grade team went 2-0, earning wins over both DeeMack and Corpus Christi! This group is made up of just three 8th graders and three 7th graders pulling double duty.
Ella and Remi each dropped 10 points against Corpus Christi.
Baylee put up 10 points against DeeMack.

The Boys Golf team celebrated Senior Night last night against Eureka and Tremont. We want to thank our Seniors for all the hard work they've put in over the years and for helping make this year one of the best regular seasons Olympia Golf has had. Spartans Varsity Boys Soccer hit a hard road skid the last few days losing 2 tough hard fought matches. The boys dropped a game Monday night at Judah Christian 5-2 and then dropped a hard fought game last night as they traveled to Riverton with a 4-2 final. All 4 goals on the two days coming off the foot of Sophomore Bernardo Fortanelli! Boys return to action tomorrow as they travel to take on Calvary Christian for a 4:30 contest.
Our teams were back in action tonight with another conference game at Auburn and came back with two great victories!
- Freshman: W (2-0) 21-14, 21-19! A great road win to kick off the night!
- JV: Came up short tonight in two tough sets, L (0-2) 20-25, 18-25.
- Varsity: W (2-0) 25-16, 25-15! The girls played fantastic volleyball tonight, staying sharp and controlling the match from start to finish.
Proud of the hard work on the road tonight! Keep up the momentum, ladies! We're back in action at home on Thursday against Illini Central!
It was a great course, and the weather was even better, for the Olympia Spartans boys and girls cross country teams as they traveled to Chester-Beason Park for a weeknight meet hosted by Mt. Pulaski. Although it was a small meet—with the Oly girls being the only full team and only two boys teams competing—that didn’t stop Kali (24:48) and Jasper (20:38) from running personal bests. It was a fantastic meet with some excellent performances. The XC team is off this weekend to help out with the giant Middle School Invite that Oly is hosting. Come out Saturday morning to cheer on the OMS Cross Country team!
The Boys Golf Team competed yesterday in the Sangamo Conference Meet at The Rail. The team competed well placing 4th overall and shooting a team score of 331 (+43). Austin Siliskie led the way for the Spartans shooting a career best of 77 (+5) and placing 6th overall earning All-Conference Honors. He was followed by Ethan Barnes 81 (+9), Mason Kruger 84 (+12), and Kruz Otto 89 (+17).
The Spartans are back in action Thursday for their Senior Night at North Greens Golf Course. Go Spartans!
