Community members, parents, grandparents, the OHS cheerleaders and dancers as well as some pep band members welcomed Oly West students back to school today. Reggie Redbird also was on hand to get the kids excited about 2nd semester. Police Chief Daryl Weseloh talked to the students (and community members) about all the people it takes to run a school and district. The message to kids was that we have a responsibility to help others in our community and school to make Olympia an amazing place.
The adults stayed behind to hear about the newly formed Spartan Council to learn more about ways they can serve the families of the district.
It was a great, high - energy way to welcome our students back after winter break!
We would like to thank all who helped by participating in this event! We would also like to thank Signs of Success for the motivational signs. The students were very excited to have such an awesome welcome!
