Our Olympia South Elementary students and staff kicked off the school year by diving into our PBIS Expectations! From learning the routines in the hallway and cafeteria to practicing safe play on the playground, our students are already showing what it means to be safe, respectful, and responsible.

Yesterday, Olympia South Elementary was buzzing with energy, smiles, and non-stop fun! Our students got to dive into all kinds of incredible activities, celebrate their hard work, and make some amazing memories together.

First graders at South spent their morning at the carnival! Bowling...ring toss...pong...golfing...a duck pond...a giant spinner and more! With each game came a task to complete to review some of our key first grade skills like addition, subtraction, place value, comparing, sight words and story writing.
Thank you to our parents for the support running stations and donating items for our snack and drink station!

Whether she is handling bumps and bruises with a gentle touch, managing complex health needs, or simply offering a kind word to a student who needs it, she approaches every day with immense care and professionalism. We are so grateful to have her on our team keeping our school community happy and healthy.

At Olympia South, being a Super Spartan means more than just following the rules—it means rising to the challenge. This month, we are incredibly proud to recognize our students who have mastered the art of Problem Solving.
Whether it was navigating a tricky math equation, resolving a playground disagreement with kindness, or finding a creative way to help a classmate, these students didn't give up when things got tough. They paused, thought it through, and found a way forward! Way to go!

Thanks to the generosity of the Olympia Foundation for Education (OFFE) we received a class set of microphone/headphones. Throughout the last few months, third grade students have been learning about podcasts and eventually created their own.
They began by listening to various podcasts to build background knowledge, transitioned into brainstorming and scriptwriting and even designed their own unique podcast cover art. This week, we reached our final milestone as many of the students successfully recorded their very own podcasts!
Don’t forget—it’s Grandparent’s Day! We are so excited to welcome everyone from 8:00 am - 9:45 am. Come by and visit the book fair, check out all the fun activities, and spend some quality time with family. We can’t wait to see you!
Join us in congratulating our Olympia South students, who were recently recognized at the IPA Student Recognition Breakfast for their outstanding leadership and selfless service to their community.
Our 4th graders had an incredible time exploring the Lincoln Museum, visiting the tomb, and walking through Lincoln's home. It was a wonderful day of stepping back in time and learning about the life and legacy of our 16th president.
