Slipping, sliding, and running to great performances! A rain-drenched course met the runners in a clash over the Sangamo Conference Cross Country Championships. Our Spartan girls captured the Conference title in a 1-point victory over a strong Pleasant Plains team (38-39)! The squad had All-Conference runners Amelia Kistner (19:22), Abby Litwiller (19:38), and Emma Swartzendruber (19:40)! They were followed closely by Anna Bieber (20:03) and Chrystal Cornwell (20:07) to round out the scoring positions. Our runners look to take their impressive 44 second 1-5 pack into the postseason where they will be a force on the course! The boys’ side had Logan Demling leading the charge on the mud-ridden course in 17:02. Caden Clark (17:16) and Copper Phillips (17:21) followed shortly after. C.J. Moore (18:19) and Evan Petri (20:05) completed the scoring to give us 91 points and 4th place! Paul Yeary continued to make big strides and finished in 21:15, and Reece Yero finished strong with a 23:51! The Spartans are back in action on Saturday in Effingham!

Some of our classes are having difficulty locating a hayrack, finding a location to build the float and securing someone to drive the float for our Homecoming Parade. If you are willing to help in any of these capacities, please contact the high school. Thank you
