Superintendent Dr. Andrew Wise Welcomes You
On behalf of the Board of Education and our entire Professional Learning Community, we would like to welcome you to the Spartan Family.
Our mission is to educate, inspire, and challenge each of our students to achieve personal success. We are able to maximize the potential of our students by providing a safe and secure, yet rigorous and challenging academic environment. We have great pride in utilizing cutting edge curriculum and technology via research-proven teaching and learning practices. We value developing the whole child, and as a result, receive many honors and accolades in academia, fine arts, and extra-curricular competitions.
Progress toward the goals of our Strategic Plan is made through the hard work and effort of our students, employees, parents, and community members. Olympia is proud of our history, heritage, and culture. We are comprised of nine supportive communities in Central Illinois: Armington, Atlanta, Covell, Danvers, Hopedale, McLean, Minier, Stanford, and Waynesville.

Superintendent of Schools
From the Assistant Superintendent
Welcome to Olympia!
As the Assistant Superintendent, one of my primary responsibilities is ensuring the district curriculum adheres to state standards, meets all state/Board of Education requirements, engages our students, and prepares our students for their individual paths after they leave Spartan Nation. At Olympia, we work diligently to model the Spartan Skills we expect
our students to learn and exhibit as they interact with their peers, their teachers, the community and their families. We are striving to create a community of learners that possess the academic and interpersonal skills needed to prosper in the workplace, college or the military.
As a lifelong resident of the Olympia District, I attended Atlanta Elementary School (Olympia South) through 7th grade. My 8th grade year was the first year Olympia Middle School was in existence. I was very active in high school in both athletics (volleyball and softball) as well as student council, German Club, the school newspaper and yearbook. After graduating, I attended ISU and studied secondary education. After spending 20 years in Unit 5 Schools as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and the Director of Secondary Education as well as three years (2008 - 2011) as the Olympia South Elementary Principal, I am excited to return to the district as the Assistant Superintendent. I am hopeful that my experiences will enhance the district and benefit our students.
Please do not hesitate to contact my office with any questions about the district, our curriculum or any other school related issues. I look forward, once again, to be blessed to work in my home community.
